Our Programs

At Yates Baptist CDC, we believe children are creative, curious, and learn through play. Our classrooms are structured to follow their lead, allowing children more independence in problem solving and discovery in a safe, home-like environment with dedicated and loving educators.

Infants

The infant classroom is for children from two months of age through to age 1 with a ratio of 1:4 and a maximum group size of 8. It is an inviting, engaging and safe space for very young children.

  • Babies have their own individualized schedules and each infant has their own assigned crib.

  • Teachers introduce tummy time and gross motor exploration as infants begin to crawl and pull up.

  • The outdoor play space is specifically designed for babies and toddlers.

  • Our infant teachers are CPR, First Aid and ITS-SIDS trained.

Toddlers

The toddler classroom is for children from one to two years of age. The ratio is 1:5 with a maximum group size of 10. The classroom is equipped with age appropriate furnishings, toys, and materials.

  • Children have free exploration of toys and materials, a twice daily small group circle time, a teacher directed activity and two outdoor play times. 

  • The outdoor play space is specifically designed for infants and toddlers. 

  • Our toddler teachers are CPR, First Aid, and ITS-SIDS trained.

RSVP

Twos

The twos classroom is for children ages 2 to 3. The ratio is 1:8 with a maximum group size of 13. The classroom is equipped with age appropriate furnishings, toys, and materials.

  • Children have free exploration of toys and materials and participate in both small and large group activities.

  • Time is set aside for children ready to use the potty. 

  • Sensory play is available daily with water, play dough, and sand.

  • The outdoor play space is equipped with a sandbox, dramatic play area, gardens, trike track and a slide.

Preschool

The preschool classroom is for children ages 3 to 4. The ratio is 1:9 with a maximum group size of 16.

  • Children follow a schedule that includes active play, small groups, free play, and outdoor play.

  • Teachers introduce pre-academic skills including letters, numbers, and phonics.

  • Sensory play and art is available daily. 

  • The outdoor play space has sand and water tables, a mud kitchen, climbing structures, slides, and gardens.

Pre-K

The Pre-K classroom is for children ages 4 to 5 who will be transitioning to kindergarten. The ratio in this classroom is 1:9 with a maximum group size of 18.

 

  • The classroom is set up in centers and children are encouraged to explore and develop their play.

  • The daily schedule includes free play, small and large group activities, quiet and active play and outdoor play.

  • Teachers focus on developing skills to prepare children for kindergarten, including how to resolve conflicts and ask for help, listening and following directions, and pre-academic skills including letter and number recognition.

  • The outdoor play space has sand and water tables, a mud kitchen, climbing structures, slides, and gardens.
